The Pittsburgh Legal Diversity & Inclusion Coalition was founded in 2017 to promote regional economic growth by assisting employers in the greater Pittsburgh area to increase the hiring, retention, and inclusion of legal professionals from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Our 32 member law firms and law departments are committed to working collaboratively not only among our members but also with the many other organizations working to promote diversity in the legal community and the City.
The Coalition, therefore, was both shocked and disheartened to learn of the recent allegations against Judge Mark Tranquilli of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Hate speech in any form has no place in our judicial system or our society. It undermines the efforts of all of us who are trying to create a more inclusive and supportive legal community and environment for everyone. We wholeheartedly support a thorough investigation into the matter.
