Law Firm Roundtables
In May 2022, the PLDIC launched the Law Firm Roundtable Collaboration Program.
This program brings together like-sized law firms in a series of facilitator-led, cohort-based roundtable discussions on Recruitment and Retention with the PLDIC member organizations.
All PLDIC member law firms are welcome to participate in this new program!
The PLDIC was formed with the premise that diversity, equity, and inclusion will only improve in the Pittsburgh legal community if we work collaboratively. However, not all of our member organizations are alike in size or resources. Based on the feedback PLDIC Executive Director Ena Lebel received during her listening tour, it became clear that the top two priorities for our members are Recruitment and Retention. One proven way to increase the recruitment and retention of a diverse group of attorneys is through meaningful actions on DEI. But the resources and strategies that our larger member organizations can employ are not the same that our smaller member organizations can utilize. Additionally, law firms use different strategies than legal departments.
Through these roundtable discussions, our member law firms have an opportunity to learn and develop DEI strategies and solutions from collaborating with each other.
We highly suggest that you send a member of your executive team, your Chief Diversity Officer, or both individuals to participate in the roundtable program. As the topics for discussion evolve, you may choose to bring other stakeholders from your firm to these meetings.
