Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky Elects Gretchen E. Moore as Firm President

Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky is pleased to announce that Gretchen E. Moore has been elected as President of the firm, effective April 1, 2023. As the firm’s first woman President, she will lead the firm on a platform of communication, accountability, and development and growth, working closely with the newly elected firm officers. Gretchen believes leadership is truly an opportunity to serve, and looks forward to this monumental opportunity.

“Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit,” says David Strassburger, Immediate Past President of the firm and Gretchen’s predecessor. “We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, and brave by doing brave acts. Gretchen leads with these ancient lessons in mind. I could not be more confident in the success of our firm under her leadership.”

Gretchen E. Moore has been with Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky for 19 years, serving as the chair of the firm’s e-Discovery Group, as well as the co-chair of the firm’s Investigation Group, and driving force of the firm’s Women’s Initiative. In 2022 she was named as an e-Discovery Special Master by the United States District Court and the Western District of Pennsylvania Board of Judges. Gretchen’s practice focuses on commercial and civil litigation, independent investigations, and municipal law with an emphasis on contracts, employment, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and land use and other real estate disputes.

“I am so proud of Strassburger McKenna Gutnick & Gefsky and its people. I look forward to leading, supporting, and developing our talented team and upholding this firm’s mission of ‘Committed to Our Clients. Dedicated to Each Other. Devoted to Our Communities.’” said Gretchen E. Moore.

Gretchen is a champion for advancing and retaining women in the legal profession. SMGG’s Women’s Initiative offers counsel, mentorship, support, and education to promote women’s personal and professional advancement, recognize and address issues affecting women, and increase awareness of the value of women as leaders in the workplace and our communities. Our Women’s Initiative program exists to foster a culture of supporting women personally and professionally.

Additionally, the following officers have been elected:

  • Vice President: Julie I. Kline
  • Treasurer: Alan T. Shuckrow
