PLDIC has partnered with Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation to make a series of mini-assessments around LGBTQ+ competency available to you as our members. Multiple people within an organization are invited to participate.
This last mini assessment is all about Pride. Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation created this mini assessment based on real life experiences of transgender/nonbinary lawyers in the workplace providing services as well as from feedback of the queer community seeking legal services and trying to find an inclusive workplace.
Pride is deeply rooted in the fight for equity and justice for LGBTQ+ people. It is a space for the queer community to celebrate together in joy and self-affirmation. It provides an opportunity to bring awareness and acceptance of queer and trans identities. The month of June is Pride Month, when most of the Pride celebrations occur.
In 2019, LGBTQ+ adults globally held a combined buying power of approximately $3.7 trillion. Gen Z’s purchasing power is estimated to grow to $33 trillion by 2030, accounting for a quarter of all global income. Close to 20% of all Gen Z people identify as LGBTQ+. Many organizations have recognized that access to this “Pink Money” is significant for their success.
This mini assessment is intended to introduce some key considerations related to Pride. We know that some of you might want to delve deeper. The mini assessment gives you the option to request further information from Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation. Your email will only be used for communication if you specifically request more information. We will keep your individual responses strictly confidential.
