Why Practice in Pittsburgh

Gilda Arroyo

I moved to Pittsburgh from Washington, DC and admit that I was less than excited to move to (what I perceived to be) a fairly homogeneous city. Don’t get me wrong, Pittsburgh still has some work to do, but the number of shops, shows, and restaurants highlighting unique cultures, languages, and cuisines has been eye opening.  The best part is how easy it has been to find friends and colleagues willing to share in these experiences. PLDIC is helping to raise awareness of these amazing opportunities. The Coalition has certainly helped me expand my network both personally and professionally and my legal practice has benefitted because of that. In hindsight, it feels like I moved here just at the right time -the growth of tech, the increased focus on green spaces, and the influx of individuals from various cities and cultures continue to favorably impact the City of Bridges and all it has to offer.
